ADTU (Assam Down Town University) is situated at Panikhaiti, Guwahati, Assam. It was founded in 2010 by the Govt. of Assam as a second private university. The University provides 50 Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Ph.D courses in Engineering, Management, Nursing, Paramedics, Hospitality and Pharmacy and Skill Development. Assam down town University was founded on 29th April 2010 by the downtown Charity Trust. It is the second private university in the north-east. The necessity of a private university has been felt for a long time, as candidates have to go to other parts of India. In 2011, the following disciplines, namely Engineering with Five Branches, Pharmacy, Nursing, Allied Health, Hotel Management and many more courses are to be started.
