Cotton College State University came into existence in the year 1901 and it was named in honor of Sir Henry Stedman Cotton for appreciating his real concern for the cause of higher education in the local region. Cotton College State University, the 116-year-old College in Guwahati has been upgraded to Cotton University. Cotton College State University Admission 2019

For Bachelor of Science and Arts courses, candidates will be admitted on the basis of merit secured by the candidates in the appropriate major subject in which they are seeking admission. For this purpose, the college follows the practice of preparing the merit list of candidates for each major subject with credit point as the criteria for selection.

For Postgraduate courses, admission is done based on the marks secured by the candidates in their Undergraduate examination keeping in view the reservation policy followed by the Assam Government.
