The University of Gauhati, popularly known as ‘Gauhati University’, is the oldest and largest University in North East India. Since its inception in 1948, it continues to be a leading teaching and research institution, offering courses in a wide range of disciplines. Many of our teachers are academics of national and international repute and are working in the state-of-the-art areas of research. The University has forty-one Post Graduate Departments, an Institute for Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) and a constituent Law College in the main campus. It has 258 affiliated colleges, offering Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses in the Faculties of Arts, Commerce, Engineering, Fine Arts, Law, Management, Medicine, Science, and Technology.

GU, GUWAHATI Exam Admit Card / Hall Ticket Download

Admit cards Gauhati University will be published 1 month before the exams. Admit cars contain Students related details like name, address, center, time duration etc. Applied Students can download the admit cards from the official portal on online mode. Students who appear exams have to carry admit cards and id proof with them. It fails to carry, Students will not give permission to attain exams.

Gauhati University Admission 2019

Gauhati University (GU, GUWAHATI) offers B.Tech in 3 specializations. The minimum eligibility to apply is 12th (10+2) from a recognized board. Admission into B.Tech courses is on the basis of merit in Assam CEE. For B.Tech courses, students must appear for the Assam-CEE. The rank in this examination will determine the admission. The counselling is done at the state-level as the CEE is organized at the state level.

Gauhati University offers UG, PG and integrated Law courses. The minimum eligibility for LL.B and LLM is a graduate degree and for integrated BA. LLB course, students should have 12th (10+2) qualification from a recognized board. Marks attained in the qualifying examination of the students’ last qualifying examination will be taken into consideration. Counseling for law courses is organized at the university level.

Gauhati University offers PG courses in the field of Arts, Science and Commerce with a number of specializations in each field. MA is offered in 20 specializations and M.Sc in 14 specializations. In order to be eligible to apply for PG courses, students must have completed graduation in the relevant field. students applying for integrated courses must have completed 12th (10+2) from recognized board. The admission criteria are based on merit in the previous qualification. An entrance examination for interdisciplinary courses is organized by the university and counseling for all courses is done at the university level.

M.Tech at Gauhati University is offered in 4 specializations. In order to apply for M.Tech courses, students must have completed B.E./B.Tech in the relevant field. The admission criteria are based on a written entrance examination organized by the university. Performance in this examination will determine admission, counseling for all courses will be done at the university level.

The university offers research courses in a number of specializations. Admission into M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses is done through the Central Application Process (CAP). The eligibility for M.Phil./Ph.D. courses is a PG degree in a relevant field. Selection is based on merit in an entrance examination organized by the university. Gauhati University Research Eligibility Test (GU-RET) is organized by the university. The test is split into two parts, the first tests general aptitude, computer knowledge and reasoning abilities while the second part tests subject-specific knowledge.
